Bingdao Lao Zhai Single-Origin Ancient Tree Raw Puerh Tea comes from Bingdao Village in Yunnan Province, located in Mengku Town, Lincang City. It is one of the most renowned tea-producing areas in the Mengku tea region. Lao Zhai (the "Old Village") sits within Bingdao Village at an altitude of 1,640 meters in Mengku Town, Shuangjiang County, and is famous for its clusters of ancient tea trees, particularly those of the Bingdao large-leaf varietal.
Bingdao Village has a long history of tea cultivation, dating back to the Tang Dynasty. It was once one of the tea gardens of the Rong family of Mengku during that period, giving it a history of over a thousand years. The Pu-erh tea produced here is highly esteemed for its distinctive taste and exceptional quality, often regarded as a treasure among Pu-erh teas.
Bingdao features a South Asian tropical monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 19.5°C. Winters are mild, summers are not excessively hot, and the area enjoys a spring-like climate year-round. With annual rainfall ranging from 1,000 mm to 1,200 mm, conditions are ideal for tea cultivation.
“Yu Shang Xi” Bingdao Lao Zhai Single-Origin Ancient Tree Raw Puerh Tea Cake is crafted from ancient tea trees growing in gravel-rich soil within Lao Zhai. The tea liquor is clean and sweet, full-bodied and smooth, with a rich and thick gelatinous texture. The aroma is intense and long-lasting, with a lingering fragrance on the cup. It offers a strong and persistent returning sweetness (hui gan) and salivation (sheng jin), accompanied by unique wild honey floral notes and a rock sugar-like finish — endlessly intriguing. The cha qi is robust and full, and the tea can endure over fifteen infusions.
Bingdao Lao Zhai Single-Origin Ancient Tree Raw Puerh is a highly esteemed tea in the tea community and one of the most precious Pu-erh teas from Yunnan.
