Ban Zhang (note: the packaging label "Xin Ban Zhang" is a misprint) was originally the site of the state-owned Menghai Tea Factory's former processing center on Bulang Mountain. Located about sixty kilometers south of Menghai County at an average elevation of 1,700 meters, the area currently comprises both Lao Ban Zhang (Old Ban Zhang) and Xin Ban Zhang (New Ban Zhang). In 1988, the Chinese state-owned Menghai Tea Factory cultivated over 3,000 mu (approx. 500 acres) of new tea gardens in the Ban Zhang area, alongside thousands of mu of cultivated ancient tea gardens primarily distributed in Lao Ban Zhang and Lao Man Er. What the market currently refers to as the "Ban Zhang tea area" encompasses Lao Ban Zhang, Lao Man Er, Ji Liang, Her Kai, and other villages, with ancient tree tea production exceeding 100 tons annually – truly making it the "Greater Ban Zhang Region."

This 2022 Ban Zhang Single-Origin Ancient Tree tea embodies an intense wild mountain energy. The cake exhibits the distinctive aroma characteristic of ancient tree tea, a fragrance that lies between wild honey and orchid. The cake surface shows robust, uniformly distributed leaves with stout, fuzzy buds. Made entirely from tender early spring leaves, this tea features abundant fine hairs, thick-soft leaves, and plump buds. After picking, the leaves were processed by experienced tea masters from our factory using traditional methods: fixation over charcoal fire, hand-rolling, sun-withering, and finally stone mode-pressing into cakes.

When brewed, Ban Zhang Single-Origin releases a highly aromatic scent detectable in the liquor, brewed leaves, and cup bottom. The fragrance lingers persistently in the cup after drinking. This ancient tree pure material tea possesses substantial "tea energy" (Chee), with a full-bodied, evenly distributed mouthfeel that quickly promotes salivation and delivers a long-lasting sweet aftertaste. The liquor demonstrates remarkable thickness, immediately making its strength and power apparent on the palate.
