Description

Manglu Mountain: A Refined Pu'erh from Lincang

Nestled within the Lincang tea-growing region, Manglu Mountain forms part of the eastern extension of the Lincang Great Snow Mountain range, reaching towards the Lancang River. It rests against Xigui Mountain and stretches eastward to the river, with the historic Guixi Ferry (formerly Gali Ancient Ferry) at its foot.

This area boasts stunningly beautiful and captivating natural landscapes. The soil is the typical lateritic red earth found along the Lancang River banks. The forest coverage is subtropical monsoon rainforest, commonly featuring trees such as Red Cedar, Camphor, Large-leaf Banyan, "Ox Rib" (likely a local name for a hardy tree), Olive, and Wild Mango.

The unique natural environment of Manglu Mountain on the west bank of the Lancang River includes a mild climate with significant diurnal temperature variations, extensive forest coverage, and frequent sea of clouds over the river. Its topography, facing the morning sun but shaded in the afternoon, results in short sunlight exposure hours, primarily consisting of diffused light. Coupled with abundant rainfall, high humidity, and soil rich in humus, organic matter, and trace elements essential for tea tree growth, these ecological conditions foster robust tea plants with sturdy, thick leaves, laying the material foundation for the tea's excellent quality.

Characteristics of Manglu Mountain Pu'erh Tea

Manglu Mountain tea is a high-aroma type of raw Pu'erh. Compared to other raw Pu'erh, it is characterized by a mellow, smooth, and moist entry upon tasting, with a persistent sweet aftertaste and a long-lasting fragrance that clings to the bottom of the tea cup. By the third or fourth infusion, it becomes particularly refreshing, maintaining its aroma and sweetness without any noticeable bitterness or astringency. After several years of storage, the dry tea leaves develop a floral aroma, elegant and subtle. This tea is especially suitable for friends new to raw Pu'erh or those who appreciate light, fragrant tea profiles.
